Apartheid-and the Summit at Geneva

Liza Booritz was dead
Pilot asked Jesus, what is truth?
South Africa-North
political prisoners overwhelming
freedom's gates
in civil disobedience-apartheid
we find our gaols
we shall overcome we sing
and pray for their first born
the males
beyond genocide they find their pearly gates
singing such fine old tales
and chanting Satyagarha over and over
in memory of Mahatma Ghandi's
thirteen years in jail
we shall overcome he sang
without food he would continually chant
and shake his imaginary bells
hunger strikes-in protest
from Oxford and law school
to a South African jail-forgotten
so freedom is today
remembered and forgotten...like sifting
salt and pepper
Geneva and civil liberties
what about Bobby Sands Mr. Ghandi?
Ireland's sands are stained
who was passing
the pepper at the tables
and smiling for civil liberties?
